Ian Heads OAM | Memorial Service

The Sydney Cricket Ground will host a memorial service for the late Ian Heads OAM on Wednesday, April 17 in the Members Pavilion.

SCG Gate A will open at 3:30pm ahead of a 4pm memorial service.

Mr Heads was a highly-regarded journalist, author and historian who wrote for Sydney’s Daily and Sunday Telegraphs, Rugby League Week, the Sydney Morning Herald and Sun-Herald, while also authoring more than 45 books.

In 2010, Mr Heads was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM), in 2014 he was inducted into the SCG Media Hall of Honour, and last year was inducted into the NRL Hall of Fame in a special event at the SCG.

The memorial service is open to the public. Light refreshments will be served after the service.
