World-class Wayfinding Coming to the SCG
Media Release
Sydney Cricket Ground, as a part of the Venues NSW network, has partnered with Liveli to bring its doorstep-to-seat digital mapping solution – MapsIndoors by MapsPeople – to the Moore Park precinct.
Sporting fans and eventgoers attending the Sydney Cricket Ground, Accor Stadium (Sydney Olympic Park), CommBank Stadium (Parramatta), McDonald Jones Stadium (Newcastle), Newcastle Entertainment Centre, WIN Stadium (Wollongong), WIN Entertainment Centre (Wollongong) and the soon-to-be-opened Allianz Stadium (Moore Park), will soon be able to map their way from home to their seat with a click of a button.
The easy-to-use platform will allow patrons to plan every element of their journey from how to get to their favourite food and merchandise outlets, bathrooms, or the quickest route to their seating row or upgraded corporate hospitality suite.
The new digital way-finding solution, which will progressively roll out across NSW’s major stadiums over the next 12 months, follows the success of MapsPeople’s partnership with the Chase Centre in San Francisco, home to the NBA’s Golden State Warriors.
“Venues NSW is proud to team up with Liveli and MapsPeople to bring a world-leading wayfinding solution to New South Wales’ biggest and best sporting and entertainment venues,” said Tim Blight, Head of Technology at Venues NSW.
“The technology makes it easier for fans to find their favourite food and drink outlets, merchandise stalls, or corporate and function spaces.
“We’re particularly excited about bringing the solution to the soon-to-be-opened Allianz Stadium – which will be a world-class 42,500 seat stadium right in the heart of Sydney CBD.”
The digital mapping solution is the first of its kind stadium way-finding solution in Australia that will assist the millions of event attendees each year, ensuring a premium and seamless experience to their seat.
Liveli’s Senior Account Executive, Alexis Phillips, said it’s exciting to bring its digital mapping solution, in partnership with Google Maps and MapsIndoors platforms, to the NSW’s biggest and best stadia.
“Liveli, and our partner MapsPeople, are pleased for the opportunity to work with Venues NSW on this application that will enhance the experience for all stadium visitors for years to come,” Phillips said.
“The MapsIndoors technology, based upon the familiar and trusted Google Maps Platform, will be intuitive and simple to use for everyone. We can’t wait for the rollout of this across all of the Venues NSW stadiums and entertainment centres.”
